Children aren't small adults — and their dentistry shouldn't be either
A general dentist treats teeth. A paediatric dentist is trained — across an additional three years of MDS specialisation — to treat the whole child: their developing jaws, their changing dentition, their behaviour, their anxiety, and the way nutrition, habits, and growth all interact with their oral health.
At The Lil Teeth, Dr Sheena Soni works only with children. Every part of the clinic — the pace, the language, the chair, the lighting — is built for paediatric care. Many of the children we see in Colaba have had earlier dental experiences that scared them. We rebuild that trust slowly, never forcing a treatment a child isn't ready for.
Our approach is rooted in the Indian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry guidelines: a first visit by age one, prevention-first, and the use of behaviour-management techniques like Tell-Show-Do before any treatment begins.
Specialist paediatric dental care in Colaba
First visits
A relaxed, unrushed introduction to dentistry. We meet your child at their pace — no surprises, no pressure.
Cavity treatment
Tooth-coloured fillings done gently, with proper numbing. Most cavities are treated in a single visit.
Fluoride & sealants
Preventive treatments that protect new permanent teeth. Five-minute applications, no drilling.
Pulp therapy
When a cavity reaches the nerve, we save the tooth — calmly, with full numbing and clear explanations to your child.
Dental trauma
Knocked-out, chipped or displaced teeth. Same-day care for emergencies — call us before you do anything else.
Space maintainers
When a baby tooth is lost early, we hold space for the permanent tooth coming through behind it.
Tongue tie specialist
Assessment and release of tongue tie (frenectomy) in infants and children. Improves feeding, speech, and oral function.
Airway & breathing
Evaluation of mouth-breathing, snoring, and sleep-disordered breathing. Early intervention for healthy airway development.
Myofunctional therapy
Exercises to retrain the muscles of the tongue, lips, and face. Supports proper swallowing, breathing, and jaw growth.
